Pick Up Sticks

Set aside the black stick to use as a tool to assist in picking up the sticks. Put the remaining sticks back into the tube and place the open-end down on the table. Quickly lift off the tube and allow the sticks to fall to the table.

Starting with the youngest player, each player, intern, tries to pick up a stick at one time without moving any of the other sticks. The black stick may be used by the player to lift or flip away a stick from the pile. If the player moves another stick while trying to “pick-up” a stick, their turn is over. If a player successfully removes a stick, they continue picking up sticks until a stick moves, and their turn ends. Play moves to the next player to the left. Play continues until all the sticks are picked up from the pile.

Each player adds up the total points for their sticks, according to the following point value:

Blue sticks – 50 points
Green sticks – 40 points
Red sticks – 25 points
Yellow sticks – 10 points

The player with the most points wins!
