This kit contains 90 cards, divided into 3 types of cards:
a) Upgrades for 8 cards from the old (1st edition) base game.
b) Upgrades for 42 cards from the old (1st edition) expansion set (from the 5 original expansions).
c) Full 6th expansion (Barbarians and Traders, 40 cards).
So, if you have an OLD base game + OLD expansion set -> this kit is MADE for you (you’ll use all the cards).
If you have a NEW base game + OLD expansion set -> this kit is for you (you’ll use 82 of the 90 cards).
If you have an OLD base game + NEW expansion set -> you don’t need this unless you only want to use 8 of the 90 cards.
If you have a NEW base game + NEW expansion set -> you definitely don’t need this since you’ve got all the cards it contains.
How to tell the OLD base/expansion set from the NEW? The old sets were called ”The Settlers of Catan Card Game” and ”The Settlers of Catan Card Game Expansions”. The NEW versions dropped ”The Settlers” from the name.
