This is a game based firmly on the characteristics of selling stocks and shares. Strategies of investors decisively affect market trends with luck of only secondary importance. During the game, players are given objectives, portfolios of certain shares to build. When they succeed in reaching their objectives, players gain a useful cash bonus. However, players should not concentrate on achieving their objectives to such an extent that they fail to take advantage of the many trading opportunities that will present themselves during the course of play. Speculate does not provide a situation in which players win or lose unrealistic millions; it simulates the position of the small investor trying to increase the value of holdings by modest but vital amounts as in real life. Now however, there is competition with others, each of whom will try to alter the market.
