Who Goes There? Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe edition is the base game + both original character expansions (Blair & Clark; Van Wall & Norris), so you’ll get 8 characters in one box.

Characters include: McReady, Garry, Kinner, Copper, Van Wall, Norris, Clark and Blair.

Who Goes There? is a cooperative game of growing paranoia. At the beginning of the game, all players are human and there is no reason not to fully trust the other players. As the temperature drops and mistakes are made, players start to doubt everything and everyone around them.

You must build, trade, and upgrade to better your chances of surviving the perils of the camp, and the alien entity that is now running loose.

Players must survive the elements and escape on the helicopter. and hope that anyone else on board is who they appear to be.

The celebrated novella that inspired John Carpenter’s landmark film THE THING is now a tabletop game! Now play as one of the original characters in this official tabletop adaptation - a suspenseful game of co-op, strategy and growing paranoia.

Each player starts out human, but failing to prepare will leave players vulnerable to becoming infected by the Thing. The goal is to survive until the final round and board the helicopter with enough bonuses to reach the required total. But be careful not to let any infected players on board! Any infected players that make it on to the helicopter will count their bonuses against the humans’ totals. If the humans fail to meet their required total with Infected players on board, the Infected players win.

Hell’s Frozen Over:
Grab what buildables you can and make a weapon. If staving off hunger pains and avoiding an avalanche wasn’t enough, you’ve got a dog attack on our hands, and that boiler is about ready to blow. Your friends need Canned Food for the next round, and you dare not sleep alone on the bunk round coming up. The only way out of this ice-hole is on that helicopter you don’t know how to fly, conveniently enough.

Step Out Into the Cold:
You have two ways out: in a body bag or on the helicopter. If you want to fly that helicopter though, you’ll need to go outside the camp to find maps, fuel and other bonuses, but the Thing is out there too. If you’re not careful, the Thing will leave you vulnerable, if not infected.

Take Control:
The more vulnerable your friends become, the less you can trust them. You can’t afford to let the Thing get on the helicopter with you, or it’ll infect the whole world. I mean, unless you yourself become the Thing, then by all means, hop on and doom the human race.

Character Expansions


In addition to the base game, Who Goes There? has two character expansions with two new characters each. Play up to a 6 player game with new characters or swap in characters from the expansions with the 4 in the base game. These characters are included in the KS Deluxe Edition.

Blair and Clark:
Add Blair the Biologist and Clark the Dog Handler into the game.

Van Wall and Norris:
Van Wall the Chopper Pilot and Norris the Physicist provide new characters options for your next game.
