Title:
Villainous: The Worst Takes It All
Description:
In Villainous, each player plays as one of six classic Disney characters: Ursula, Maleficent, Prince John, Queen of Hearts, Jafar, and Captain Hook. Each player has their own villain deck, fate deck, character board, and 3D character token, while trying to fulfill their own separate objective.
For Setup:
Players will place their character board in front of them.
Players will place their villain deck to the left of their player board, and their fate deck to the right of their player board.
Players will place their character token on the leftmost of the four board locations.
Some character boards include a lock token icon. In this situation, that player will place one of the included lock tokens on the respective space.
Place the included cauldron in the center of the table and dump all of the power tokens inside.
Each player will start with four cards as their opening hand.
Player order proceeds as follows:
Player #1 receives zero power tokens.
Player #2 receives one power token.
Players #3 and #4 receive two power tokens.
Players #5 and #6 receive three power tokens.
During each player’s turn, players will:
1. Move their character token to any of the three other locations on their character board.
2. At each of the four locations resides four action icons. The types of actions are of the following:
a. Gain Power: on this action icon, the number displayed represents the number of power tokens the player may take from the cauldron.
b. Play a Card: on this action icon, the player may play any of the three cards from their hand to the bottom row of their player board.
•Ally
•Item
•Effect
c. Activate: on this action icon, the player may “activate” the effect of any cards on their player board that include this activate action symbol.
d. Fate: on this action icon, the player may pick an opposing player and draw two cards from their fate deck. From those two fate cards, the player picks one card to play to that opposing player’s top row of their player board. The card’s effect then activates.
e. Move an Item/Ally: on this action icon, the player may move an item or ally card one location to the left or to the right.
f. Move a Hero: on this action icon, the player may move a hero card one location to the left or to the right.
g. Vanquish: on this action icon, the player may use any ally cards to “vanquish” any hero cards that reside at the same location (some cards may help vanquish cards at an adjacent location).
h. Discard Cards: on this action icon, the player may “discard” any cards from their hand that they do not want.
Along with the Ally, Item, and Effect cards, players’ villain decks also contain Condition cards.
a. Condition cards may be played at any time during an opposing player’s turn, and can only be played after the requirements of that condition card have been met.
b. After condition cards are played, players do not replenish their hand until the end of their next turn.
After up to all four of the actions have been completed, players will then replenish their hand back up to four cards.
Included with each player’s decks, board, and token, each player receives a villain guide and reference card.
a. Villain Guide: The Villain Guide shows a step-by-step process of how to achieve your chosen villain’s objective in order to win.
b. Reference Card: The Reference Card gives a quick guide to each action icon’s description.
Once a player has fulfilled the required objective on their player board, they win!
