God of War: The Card Game is a cooperative, scenario/quest-based deck-building game set in the Norse world of the God of War video game series. Players take the role of the Norns, experimenting with different combinations of heroes, upgrades, and events to discover a path that can stop Ragnarök. Players choose heroes such as Kratos, Atreus, Mimir, Freya, and Brok & Sindri, then fight through quests represented by a tabletop ”mosaic” of double-sided cards depicting enemies and locations. Over multiple quests, players improve decks with upgrades, manage status effects and tokens, and cooperate to deal damage to sections of the mosaic while meeting quest-specific win conditions.
