The Little Flower Shop: Potpourri Pack
Description:
This 12-card expansion pack adds some variety to the Little Flower Shop. At the start of the game, 3 potpourri cards are dealt to each player. In typical drafting form, players keep 1 and pass 2. They then keep 1 of the 2 received and pass the 3rd card.
The potpourri cards give players an opportunity to score additional flower power or to earn money by meeting a variety of conditions. Some cards also just give an immediate bonus. While some of the cards are played during the game, others are scored at game end.
The cards can also be used in the solo game as a way to increase one’s score.
In the original Kickstarter, 3 additional cards were added as stretch goals, for a total of 15.
Potpourri Pack Rules:
The Potpourri Pack contains 12 potpourri cards. Follow the rules of the base game, but with the following changes.
Potpourri Phase:
After setup, but before players look at their hands, shuffle the potpourri cards and deal 3 to each player. Each player chooses 1 of the cards, then passes the 2 remaining cards to the right. From the 2 cards received, each player chooses 1 and passes the final card to the right. All players must keep the final card passed to them. Players then place their potpourri cards face-up near their windows.
For the solo game, shuffle the potpourri cards and make 3 piles of 4 cards each. For each pile, flip 1 card at a time and decide to keep or discard it. If you keep it, discard the remaining cards in the pile. If you discard a card, draw the next card in the pile and decide to keep/discard. If you reach the end of a pile, you must keep the final card. Use the cards to increase your score.
UsingPotpourri Cards:
The potpourri cards provide opportunities to score flower power or earn money. Some cards are triggered during the game (e.g., at the end of the first round) or at the end of the game. Unless otherwise noted, all cards are used one time and then discarded. Details for card use are on the opposite side. Potpourri cards do not count as cards in storage nor are they ever put in the trash.
New Exchange Rule: A player may spend $5 to put any 1 of his/her cards back into the hand to draw and play 2 cards from the hand.
Potpourri Cards Description:
At game’s start, draw a card from the deck. Play the drawn card as normal.
You may discard 2 cards and draw 2 cards from the deck, prior to choosing a card.
Double the amount received from an order. This card is not an order card.
At end of the first round, earn $4 for each double flower card in your window.
At game end, score 2 flower power if you have at least 5 tulips in your window.
At end of first round, earn $7 if you have the most vases in your window. Ties do not count.
At end of second round, earn $7 if you have at least 4 sunflowers in your window.
At game end, score 2 flower power if you have at least 2 type of each filler.
You may immediately discard a basket card you take to earn $5.
Every time you take a salary card (not fulfill an order), take an additional $2 from the supply.
At end of first round, earn $6 if you have at least 3 roses in your window.
At end of second round, earn $3 for each single flower card in your window.
At game end, score 1 flower power if you have 3 hanging baskets in your window.
• All cards are one-time use except for the card that gives you $2 whenever you take a salary card.
• If there is not enough money in the supply to take what is earned, use a substitute.
• Reminder: Every $5 at game end counts as 1 flower power.
• For a variant, players may decide to keep Potpourri cards hidden until use,
instead of revealing them at the start of the game.
• For a 2-player to 3-player variant, deal 5 cards to each player at the start of
the game and draft 3-5 cards (your choice).
