Wise and Otherwise

Wise and Otherwise is a proverb-completion party board game in the Balderdash-style bluffing/creative writing genre. Players take turns as the Reader, who reads the beginning half of an obscure proverb and gives its country of origin. Other players secretly write believable endings, which are mixed with the real ending from the card. The Reader reads all endings aloud and players vote on which ending they believe is authentic. Players score points for fooling others into voting for their invented ending and for correctly identifying the real proverb ending. The game typically includes a game board, 500 proverb cards (with starts/ends on opposite sides), six pawns, a die, writing pads, pencils, and instructions. Box front shows the title ’Wise and Otherwise’ over a circular, brown/tan globe-like design with small colored markers around the top arc.
