Patria Libre is a thematic board game based in Mexico (New Spain) that recreates the Mexican War of Independence between 1810-1821.
In the game, you will represent either the insurgent forces that fought for independence from Spain or the royalist side that tried to preserve the status quo. Players will spend order tokens that can be used to recruit, move, attack, and level up troops; or to collect taxes, build strongholds, buy event cards and even recruit famous historical figures to join their faction.
