Synopsis:
The Templar Legacy is a contemporary thriller in which former U.S. Justice Department operative Cotton Malone has retired to a quiet life as an antiquarian book dealer in Copenhagen. His peace is shattered when a dramatic robbery attempt on his former boss, Stephanie Nelle, pulls him back into a world of danger. Stephanie is secretly pursuing clues that could lead to the lost treasure and forbidden knowledge of the medieval Knights Templar, an order once powerful enough to rival kings and popes before being destroyed during the Inquisition.

Armed with cryptic documents, ciphers, and symbols scattered across Europe, Cotton and Stephanie race from Denmark to France and beyond, deciphering anagrams, ancient inscriptions, and religious puzzles. They soon discover that the Templar ”treasure” is not simply gold but a cache of documents and ideas—the Great Devise—containing radical interpretations of the Gospels that could undermine centuries of Christian doctrine and shake the foundations of modern faith.

Pursuing the same prize is Raymond de Roquefort, a ruthless modern-day Templar master commanding a secret army of fanatical followers. As Cotton and Stephanie join forces with the resourceful and mysterious Cassiopeia Vitt, they navigate cathedrals, monasteries, and hidden sanctuaries, uncovering layers of Templar history and Gnostic belief. Gun battles, close escapes, and betrayals punctuate their search while theological debates and historical revelations challenge what they think they know about Christ, the Church, and the legacy of the Templars.

At the climax, Cotton must prevent the explosive truths of the Great Devise from being twisted into a weapon that could destabilize governments, ignite religious conflict, and bring the civilized world to its knees. Blending real medieval history with speculative religious scholarship and fast-paced action, the novel launches the Cotton Malone series with a mix of treasure hunt, espionage, and provocative exploration of faith and doubt.
