Synopsis:
Bilbo Baggins, a comfort-loving hobbit, is swept into an unexpected quest when the wizard Gandalf and a company of dwarves recruit him as their burglar. Their journey carries them across Middle-earth through troll country, goblin tunnels, and dark forests, where Bilbo encounters strange creatures and deadly dangers. Along the way he discovers a mysterious ring and is forced to rely on courage and cleverness he never knew he had. The adventure ultimately leads to the dwarves’ attempt to reclaim their homeland and treasure from the dragon Smaug, and to a climactic conflict that will change the fate of the region.
