Synopsis:
I first read this book when it was published in 1978 and I never forgot it. It came back to mind recently and I bought a copy, not sure whether I’d be disappointed in it or whether my remembrances were unduly rosy coloured.
I still found it gripping and fascinating - a book you don’t want to put down. Although the parallels between the prophecies decoded from the internal measurements show very clear links to the historical record; Lemesurier, in one of his other books, points out that it’s not a good idea to decode your own prophecy as you will do so with reference to your own set of beliefs.
This book seems to predict the Christian and European historical model and of course the author, being English, is coming from that situation (unless of course the prophets who built the pyramid knew it would be decoded by a Christian European?)
It’s a book that raises many questions but certainly sets the reader off on a thought-provoking and potentially life changing journey. If not, at least an excellent topic for provoking deep discussion over the dinner table.
