Synopsis:
Juliet, Naked is a contemporary novel about Annie, a woman stuck in a fifteen-year relationship with Duncan, an obsessive fan of reclusive American singer-songwriter Tucker Crowe. When a stripped-down version of Crowe’s legendary album, titled ”Juliet, Naked,” is released, Duncan hails it as a masterpiece, while Annie publicly posts a sharply critical review online. Her review unexpectedly draws an email response from Tucker Crowe himself, who has long since abandoned the music industry and now lives a quiet, messy life in the United States with his young son.

As Annie and Tucker begin an intimate email correspondence, they slowly confront their own disappointments, regrets, and missed chances. Annie questions the years she has devoted to Duncan and her life in a dreary English seaside town, while Tucker wrestles with his history of failed relationships, neglected children, and the mythologized persona that his fans have created around his disappearance. When circumstances bring Tucker to England, the three characters finally collide in person, forcing them to reconsider what they owe to the past, what authenticity really means in art and in life, and whether they still have time to change their futures. Blending humor, sharp observation, and emotional honesty, the book explores music fandom, midlife crises, love, loneliness, and the struggle to live up to one’s own potential.
