Synopsis:
An aging Cuban fisherman, Santiago, has gone many days without a catch. Still determined and proud, he rows far out into the Gulf Stream and hooks an enormous marlin. For days he endures hunger, exhaustion, and injury as he battles the fish alone, testing his skill and spirit.
When Santiago finally subdues the marlin and lashes it to his skiff, the long journey home becomes a new struggle: sharks are drawn to the blood and begin tearing away his hard-won prize.
