Obverse (front) of a United States Capped Bust Half Dollar dated 1832. Design shows Liberty facing left wearing a soft cap with a headband inscribed ”LIBERTY”. Liberty has long flowing hair and a draped bust. Thirteen 6-pointed stars surround the portrait (7 left, 6 right). Denticled/beaded border around the rim. Coin appears silver-colored with light toning and minimal marks; photographed against a black felt/velvet background. No packaging shown; no UPC/EAN/barcode visible.

Type identification: Capped Bust Half Dollar (Lettered Edge type, 1807–1836). Typical specs for this issue: ~32.5 mm diameter, ~13.48–13.50 g weight, ~89.2–90% silver with copper balance, and a lettered edge reading ”FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR”. 1832 Philadelphia issue has no mintmark. Reported mintage for 1832: 4,797,000. Varieties exist for 1832 (Small Letters and Large Letters on reverse).
