Commemorative Gilt Bronze Medal converted to Brooch of Félyne Verbist, ballerina. Miss Verbist was born in Brussels on February 21, 1895. Commenced dancing at eleven and won the rank of first transvestite in the ballet Le Specter de la Rose first performance of which took place at the Théâtre de la Monnaie on April 17, 1913. She later performed at Covent Garden before travelling the world.
