The coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the 2015 Star Trek: Enterprise – Captain Jonathan Archer 1oz Silver Proof Coin individually, from a maximum mintage of 6,500. The remaining 1,500 of the mintage are part of the very limited two-coin set, featuring Captain Jonathan Archer 1 oz Silver Proof Coin and Enterprise NX-01 1 oz Silver Proof Coin.
The coin is housed in a Star Trek themed case which lights up when the lid is opened. Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
