Townsville Rapid Action and Patrols 10 Year/End of an Era Challenge Coin is ready for Pre Order
History:
Formed in 2014, Townsville Rapid Action and Patrols was sourced from local officers from multiple backgrounds. The unit was designed to be an innovative property crime and district resource which grew from bail checks and proactive patrols to a highly effective property crime prevention and disruption unit with a very high arrest rate, leading the way with the Remote Tyre Deflation Devices and Vehicle Disruption Strategies, among many more capabilities.
At the end of 2024, Townsville RAP was abolished, and successful applicants were merged over into the Townsville Tactical Crime Squad where we continue to develop and utilise a high standard of strategies and capabilities against property crime, high risk wanted persons, high risk situations, drug investigations and anything else the district requires assistance with.
Features:
· Coin Shape: Designed in the shape of a deflated car tyre representing a core of RAPs work with the effective use of Tyre Deflation Devices on a nearly daily basis. This design also creates a flat edge for the coin to stand on its own as a display option.
· Inside Coin: 3D Raised Snake, representing RAP by methodically setting “traps” for offenders, stolen vehicles, wanted persons and warrants, effectively lying in wait, and striking stealthily.
· Snake Features: 4 x Snake Fangs which are modelled off the ProSpike Spike representing RAPs effective use of the successful ProSpike and NightHawk Remote Tyre Deflation Devices. The pattern of the snakeskin has been designed to incorporate the pattern of an extended spike bed of the tyre deflation devices.
