KÖNIGE VON MAZEDONIEN. Alexander III. ’der Große’, 336-323 v. Chr. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8,58 g, 12 h), Sarden, geschlagen unter Menander, um 330/25-324/23. Kopf der Athena nach rechts, trägt einen korinthischen Helm mit Schopf, der mit einer gewundenen Schlange verziert ist. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Nike steht vorne, mit dem Kopf nach links, mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln, hält Lorbeerkranz in der rechten Hand und Stylys in der linken Hand; links, gerollte Schlange nach links. Preis 2532. Ein schöner früher Stater von kühner und attraktivem strengem Stil. Kleinere Markierungen und mit sehr leichten Ablagerungen auf der Rückseite, ansonsten gut, sehr fein.

AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Nike standing front, head to left, with her wings spread, holding laurel wreath in her right hand and stylis in her left; to left, coiled serpent to left. Price 2532. A lovely early stater of bold and attractive stern style. Minor marks and with very light deposits on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
