183 2025 Youth Technology and Virtual Communities

Description:
Youth Technology & Virtual Communities (YTVC)

ARGOS is hosting their annual YTVC conference for 2025, with this year’s theme of ‘Recidivism’.

The conference targets a global audience of law enforcement practitioners, Prosecutions, child protection workers, social workers, and child advocacy groups working directly or indirectly with child victims of crime. National and international presenters explore varied themes to provide insight into the many aspects of child exploitation including:
The development and adoption of best practice in the engagement, identification, and prosecution of child sex offenders.
Examine the typology and demographics of offenders in a worldwide context.
Explore international and national patterns and trends in offending behaviour.
Preventing sexual abuse by working with other law enforcement agencies, advocacy and support groups, government agencies and external stakeholders to educate and raise awareness of these horrendous crimes.

How is my money contributing?
Every year the YTVC conference coordinates an online charity auction to raise funds for a suitable charity that fits the yearly theme. With this year’s theme of ‘Recidivism’, the chosen charity for 2025 is ‘Stop It Now! Australia’.
Stop It Now! Australia is a prevention program which is used to report concerning behaviours and aims to prevent all forms of child sexual abuse.
Stop It Now! Australia was adopted as part of the National Child Abuse Prevention Strategy following the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Jesuit Social Services, in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, have developed the Stop It Now! Australia helpline which is staffed by highly skilled practitioners. They work closely with professionals, as well as victim-survivors of child sexual abuse to ensure their knowledge and voice help shape the service.
Every day, children and young people across Australia suffer sexual abuse, most commonly at the hands of someone they know. Stop It Now! Australia works to prevent child sexual abuse from occurring in the first place or if it has, stops the sexual abuse from happening again.
Every coin sold, will help ‘Stop It Now! Australia’ to achieve their vision of a world in which children’s right to live free from abuse and exploitation becomes a reality.
