Title:
Kennedy Half Dollar
Description:
Circulating United States Kennedy half dollar coin dated 1973. The obverse shows a left-facing portrait of President John F. Kennedy with the inscription LIBERTY around the upper rim and IN GOD WE TRUST in two lines across the lower field, with the date 1973 below the neck truncation. The reverse features the Presidential Seal: a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, holding an olive branch in its right talon and a bundle of arrows in its left, surrounded by a ring of stars and rays. Around the outer rim are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the top and HALF DOLLAR at the bottom. This is the standard copper‑nickel clad business-strike Kennedy half dollar type issued for circulation, produced by the U.S. Mint beginning in 1971, with reeded edge and the usual specifications for the series.
