Title:

Ens Causa Sui

Description:
Round metallic coin featuring on one side a seated female allegorical figure reminiscent of Britannia, draped in classical robes. She holds a branch in one hand and rests the other on a large, angular shield bearing a radiating sunburst or stylized flag design. The central figure is surrounded by a finely lined background and encircled by a wreath of laurel branches tied with a bow at the bottom, all within a beaded border near the rim. Some text appears along the upper rim but is difficult to read from the image. The opposite side of the coin (shown inside a square plastic holder) depicts a powerful lion in a leaping or rampant pose, superimposed over a shield or geometric device with radiating lines, giving a sunburst effect behind the animal. Around the lower arc of the design is the inscription ”ENS CAUSAS SUI” and at the top rim appear the letters ”IWI”. This side is also enclosed by a beaded border near the rim. The overall style suggests a commemorative or fantasy token rather than a standard circulation coin, with detailed relief engraving and a silver-colored metal surface showing light toning.
