Description:
United States Washington quarter dollar dated 1954. The obverse features the left-facing portrait of George Washington with the inscriptions LIBERTY above and IN GOD WE TRUST to the left of the bust, with the date 1954 at the bottom. This is a silver-era Washington quarter struck for circulation. Coins of this type were issued by the United States Mint from 1932 to 1964 in 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper, with a reeded edge and standard quarter diameter and weight. The reverse (not shown in the image) for this date normally depicts a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings perched on a bundle of arrows above two olive branches, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM above and QUARTER DOLLAR below.
