Title:

Nickles

Description:
United States Jefferson nickel featuring a left-facing portrait of Thomas Jefferson. The obverse shows the inscriptions ”IN GOD WE TRUST” on the left side along the rim, and ”LIBERTY” followed by a separating star and the date ”1958” on the right side along the rim. The image style and legends identify it as part of the pre-2004 Jefferson nickel series first introduced in 1938. The surface shows circulation wear and numerous contact marks and scratches, softening some of the finer design details. This coin is composed of the standard cupronickel alloy used for U.S. nickels of this period and would normally have the reverse design depicting Monticello (not shown in the photo).
