Supporting the Children’s Hospital Foundation — who support QPS families and children like Ollie and Levi
As QPS officers, we’re proud of the way our organisation stands together. But some of our own families are facing battles no child should endure. Ollie and Levi are just two of many QPS officer’s children who have spent far too much time in Hospital. Ollie was born with a critical heart condition, requiring a heart transplant in her first year of life and now living with daily, life-threatening seizures and other ongoing complications. Levi was born with an ultra-rare genetic epilepsy called KCNT1. This condition is life limiting and means Levi has uncontrolled seizures, low tone and motor control, feeding and swallowing difficulties and visual impairment.
Their lives have been deeply affected by long hospital stays, often spending birthdays, Christmases and other cherished occasions away from the warmth of home and loved ones. Through every hospital stay, setback, and frightening unknown, the Children’s Hospital Foundation has been there — providing music therapy, toys, books, special visitors, and the small but powerful moments of joy that help sick children get through their toughest days.
