Australian decimal coin: 1966 round Fifty Cents (silver issue). Obverse shows a right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, with legend around rim reading “ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 1966”. Reverse shows the Commonwealth Coat of Arms of Australia: kangaroo and emu supporters flanking a shield with a star above, ornate background, with large denomination “50” at the bottom. This is the one-year-only round 50c issue struck in 1966 with 80% silver and 20% copper, later replaced by the dodecagonal copper-nickel 50c type.
