Obverse shows left-facing bust of George Washington with the inscriptions ”LIBERTY” at top, ”IN GOD WE TRUST” at lower left, and date ”1997” at bottom. Reverse shows heraldic eagle with spread wings perched on arrows with olive branches below, with inscriptions ”UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” around top, ”E PLURIBUS UNUM” above the eagle, and ”QUARTER DOLLAR” around bottom. Clad copper-nickel coin: outer layers 75% copper and 25% nickel bonded to a pure copper core. Standard reeded edge.
