Title:

Washington Crossing the Delaware Quarter

Description:
United States Washington Quarter (quarter dollar) showing the classic George Washington left-facing bust on the obverse with inscriptions ”LIBERTY” across the top and ”IN GOD WE TRUST” at left. Date ”2021” at bottom with a ”D” mint mark to the right of Washington’s ponytail ribbon, indicating Denver Mint.

Reverse shows the 2021 ”Washington Crossing the Delaware” design: a dramatic scene of General George Washington in uniform and cape, wearing a hat, pointing a sword while troops in a boat cross an icy Delaware River. Legends include ”UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” around the top, ”E PLURIBUS UNUM” near the upper rim, ”CROSSING THE DELAWARE” centered, and ”QUARTER DOLLAR” along the bottom rim. The reverse bears artist/sculptor initials consistent with the U.S. Mint’s credited reverse designer Benjamin Sowards and reverse sculptor Michael Gaudioso.

Standard U.S. clad quarter composition with outer layers of copper-nickel bonded to a pure copper core; reeded edge; normal circulating business strike issue.
