Obverse (front): George Washington left-facing bust with legends ”UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” around top, ”LIBERTY” at left, ”IN GOD WE TRUST” at right, and ”QUARTER DOLLAR” at bottom. Obverse design originally by John Flanagan; modified for the State Quarters program by William Cousins.
Reverse (back): ”GEORGIA” at top with ”1788” beneath it; central design shows an outline of the state of Georgia with a peach inside, flanked by live oak sprigs. A ribbon/banners read ”WISDOM”, ”JUSTICE”, ”MODERATION”. At bottom: ”1999” above ”E PLURIBUS UNUM”. Reverse designed by T. James Ferrell.
Composition is copper-nickel clad (outer layers 75% copper, 25% nickel bonded to a pure copper core). Reeded edge. Standard State Quarter size/weight.
