Title:
Confederation / Constitution commemorative dollar
Description:
Coin shown is a Canadian 1 dollar circulating commemorative (Constitution) dated 1982. The reverse (shown in the image) bears the legends ”1867” at top, ”CONFEDERATION” beneath it, and ”CONSTITUTION” with ”1982” at the bottom. Central reverse design is a detailed line-engraved reproduction of the famous ”Fathers of Confederation” scene: a large group of seated and standing figures in a formal interior with arched windows behind them, representing negotiations leading to Canadian Confederation. The coin appears to be a nickel dollar (silver-gray tone) with a reeded/serrated edge typical of this issue. This type was issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to commemorate Canada’s Constitution/Confederation milestone and exists in circulating (UNC) and collector (specimen) finishes; the coin in the image is the reverse only, with no packaging or barcode visible.
