Title:

Lincoln Wheat Cent

Description:
United States Lincoln Wheat cent (”Wheat Penny”), dated 1943. Obverse shows Abraham Lincoln facing right with legends ”IN GOD WE TRUST” along the top rim, ”LIBERTY” at left, and the date ”1943” at right. Reverse shows ”E PLURIBUS UNUM” along the top rim, large ”ONE CENT” centered, and ”UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” below, flanked by two wheat ears along the left and right rims (classic Wheat reverse used 1909–1958). The coin in the images appears dark/oxidized with surface wear and spotting consistent with circulated zinc-coated steel cents from WWII-era production. No mintmark is visible under the date in the provided obverse image, suggesting Philadelphia issue (no mint mark), but the mintmark area is not clearly readable at this resolution.
