In this Bronze Age tale from Wonder Woman’s depowered Diana Prince phase, executive editor Carmine Infantino oversees editor, writer, and penciler Mike Sekowsky’s narrative, brought to life with Dick Giordano’s inks and John Costanza’s lettering. The story kicks off when Diana Prince receives an urgent plea from Mrs. Petrucci, the mother of her acquaintance Tony Petrucci, at her boutique Mod-Ly Modern on Manhattan’s 387 Park Avenue. Mrs. Petrucci discloses a tragic family secret: three years prior, her daughter Angela fell into a coma after consuming spiked punch at a party thrown by Tony’s old Vietnam comrade, Eddie Dean. Unbeknownst to the prank-loving Eddie, the concoction included a lethal detergent that killed three others outright, leaving Angela mute and unresponsive in a nursing home, unable to recognize her loved ones.

Tony, fueled by vengeance, has been hunting Eddie ever since he vanished, and now armed with a gun and a fresh lead, he’s closing in. Desperate to prevent bloodshed, Mrs. Petrucci begs Diana to locate Eddie first. A chain of tense encounters unfolds across New York City, involving fleeting appearances by the New York City Police Department (including an officer named Tom), a doomed thug called Runty Sneed, and therapist Dr. Henry Hurtz. Both Diana and Tony converge on Eddie, subduing him and handing him over to authorities. Through Dr. Hurtz’s innovative therapy, Angela miraculously recovers her faculties, leading to a heartfelt reunion with her mother and brother. Later, Diana and Tony discover Eddie’s fate: a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years. Amid the action, Tony snarls, "The law? This is the only law he’s getting!"

Featured prominently is Diana Prince, supported by Tony Petrucci, with Eddie Dean as the primary antagonist alongside the ill-fated Runty Sneed. Other characters include Angela Petrucci, Mrs. Petrucci, Dr. Henry Hurtz, and brief flashbacks to police involvement. Set entirely in the United States, specifically New York City’s Manhattan borough, the issue captures the gritty, street-level vibe of Wonder Woman’s mod era, emphasizing personal drama over superhuman feats.

This comic has been reprinted in the collection Diana Prince: Wonder Woman Vol. 3. While not considered a major key issue in the series—lacking landmark first appearances or pivotal events—it represents a solid entry in the experimental, non-costumed phase of Wonder Woman’s adventures during the early 1970s.
