Title:
Wonder Woman Vol 2 145
Synopsis:
Devastation: Part 3 of 4 - ”Death Begun!” Martian Manhunter cameo. Wonder Woman must try and contain the chaos that Devastation has unleashed while discovering how similar her opponent’s own origin is to hers.
This striking Adam Hughes cover was not the original intended composition. An early concept sketch depicted Devastation holding an impaled Wonder Woman aloft on her sword (see left). Notice that the sheath is still shown as empty on the final colour version. It is unknown why this version was dropped, though perhaps DC felt it a little too graphic in its depiction of an apparently slain Wonder Woman. https://www.amazonarchives.com/all-titles/date/1990s/1999/wonder-woman-volume-2-145
