Ghost Rider and Blaze part as uneasy allies, and as he leaves Cypress Hills Cemetery, Dan briefly contemplates taking down all phony preachers like Reverend Styge. Meanwhile, Styge meets a shadowed figure in the cellar of a Millbrook farmhouse. Styge’s mysterious master orders him to deliver an item that will help restore his memory. Later, Dan consoles his mother, who is still grieving over losing Barbara Francis leaves with Styges chauffeur, telling Dan she will return with Barbara. She urges Dan to stay behind, but he follows the limo to Mount Hebron Cemetery. Styge takes Mr. Edleman into a crypt, and emerges moments later, dropping a bloody tissue. Styge ushers Francis to Barbara’s graveside, where he says they will resurrect her. Back at the crypt, Dan discovers the bloody tissue and transforms into Ghost Rider. He races to the graveside, just as Styge is preparing to kill Francs. He uses his penance stare to subdue Styge and escorts Francis home. The next day, Francis tells Dan she is able to reconcile herself to Barbara’s death. Back at the farmhouse, the shadowy figure punishes Styge by removing his right eye, but lets Styge live when he learns of Ghost Rider’s involvement.
