Following the startling revelations of the previous arc, writer Jason Aaron (WOLVERINE, Scalped) and artist Roland Boschi take Ghost Rider down a blazing new road! Over the years, Johnny Blaze has lost everything to the curse of the Ghost Rider -- his family, his life, even his soul. But now, at long last, Johnny finally knows who’s responsible for turning him into a flame-headed horror-show on wheels, and he’s hitting the road, looking for vengeance and answers...but mostly just vengeance.
Shortly after Dixie’s funeral, Johnny Blaze visits a Catholic priest and tells him to inform Zadkiel vengeance is coming, then
becomes Ghost Rider and makes a destructive departure. Weeks later, Johnny stops at a gas station for provisions and learns from the proprietor of Lucas Collier, a local teenager who suffered a heart attack and, as a result of a near-death experience, now fears angels. Johnny travels to the hospital where Lucas was taken but is forced to leave by the brutish head nurse. Johnny becomes Ghost Rider and drives through the front of the hospital. Revealing he knows who Ghost Rider is and why he has come, Lucas agrees to tell Ghost Rider whatever he wants to know in return for Ghost Rider taking him away from the hospital. The nurses, who are, with exceprtion of new nurse Naomi, actually a heavily armed band of Zadkiel’s disciples, gear up to pursue Ghost Rider and Lucas. On a nearby highway, two tourists are attacked by a vicious band of ghosts.
