FLASHBACK: Ghost Rider confronts Lucifer at an airport, causing a plane crash and leaving Lucifer’s host body badly burned (GR #12, ’07)

To Darlene’s mother’s surprise, Darlene reveals she has become heavily pregnant overnight. Meanwhile the Buffalo Geoducks new owner, the badly scarred Jack Daniels, holds a press conference to announce that the next game will be free entry. In their hotel room, Dixie has just agreed to aid Johnny Blaze against Lucifer, though he has yet to tell her how. Watching Daniels’ announcement on TV, Johnny recognizes him as the Lucifer avatar from the airport confrontation. Quickly dressing, Johnny rides off, telling Dixie to stay at the hotel, and promising to call her with instructions, though she protests that he doesn’t even own a phone. Around the same time Darlene goes into labor, giving birth in minutes to a pair of angelic babies. Back in Buffalo, Daniels’ joyfully contemplates the results of his offer. An entire stadium packed with families watching the game, which he will then blow up, causing hundreds of deaths. On a traffic-snarled freeway, Blaze turns into Ghost Rider in order to steal a cellphone from an obnoxious commuter so that he can call Dixie later. With her children having already grown into toddlers, Darlene borrows her mother’s car to drive them into town on the next stage of their mission. Reaching Daniels’ offices, Ghost Rider attacks the avatar, but Daniels stops him, revealing that another Lucifer avatar, a little league coach, is holding his players hostage as insurance against Ghost Rider’s interference.
