Well, Johnny got what he wanted. Temporarily setting aside his quest for the remaining avatars of Lucifer, he has forced the Ghost Rider into a confrontation with The Hulk in hopes of saving the innocent. But who’s going to save Ghost Rider? The straight-up beat-down of the decade rumbles to its shocking conclusion!
Ghost Rider tries to reason with the Hulk to get him to stop his rampage, but Hulk refuses. Ignoring the Spirit of Vengeance’s voice inside him, urging Johnny to surrender control, Ghost Rider uses his chain to bring down a skyscraper atop the Hulk, but only annoys him. They fight, causing more property damage to the abandoned Manhattan, until the Hulk finally overpowers Ghost Rider. The Spirit of Vengeance takes control, and Ghost Rider revives with a massive hellfire explosion. He glares at the Hulk for a few seconds, then departs at speed. Observing from afar, two of those the Hulk is targeting for revenge, Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Strange, realize that Ghost Rider stopped fighting the green goliath because he avenges only the innocent, which they are not.
