The dream demon Nightmare strikes a deal with Zarathos. Can Blaze defeat this demonic duo or will the power of the Ghost Rider destroy the world?
Nightmare offers to help Zarathos break free of Johnny Blaze so that the terror hell inflicts on the world will feed Nightmare’s powers and expand his realm. Meanwhile, while being prepared for Renaldo’s procedure to turn him into a cyborg, the unconscious Johnny rides through Nightmare’s realm. He encounters Mona Simpson and Eliot Franklin, who both taunt him before Ghost Rider snatches Mona away. Eliot takes Blaze to his parents, who also taunt him before Barton turns into Ghost Rider. Searching for Mona, Johnny finds no help from Dr. Strange Dr. Druid or Son of Satan. Eliot takes Johnny to Crash Simpson, who also turns into Ghost Rider. Blaze finds Roxanne, but she rejects him for a more confidant version of himself. The confidant Johnny turns into Mephisto and eats Roxanne. Eliot reveals himself as Nightmare, Ghost Rider defeats Blaze and is freed in the real world, attacking Renaldo and his men. Mona convinces Johnny that he can’t give up, or Zarathos will run free, unchecked by human compassion. Blaze resumes control of his body and saves Renaldo’s life.
