Title:
Detective Comics (1937-2011)
Synopsis:
THE PERILS OF SERGIUS
The Sensei marks a writer named Sergius for death when he thinks Sergius has stumbled onto his plan, and contracts the work out to one Ma Murder. The same writer has been trying to contact Batman to write his next novel, but the Dark Knight focus his attention on capturing Ma Murder and her gang. On his investigations, Batman stumbles upon Ma Murder’s plan to murder Sergius and he saves the writer on two occasions. After two failed attempts, Ma Murder decides to deal with the writer by herself and she prepares a trap on the man’s apartment, where he would be drowned to death. However, Sergius was earlier visited by Matches Malone and when the death trap is set in motion, Malone turns into Batman and saves the writer. When Batman takes Sergius out of danger, he confronts Ma Murder and a couple of members of the League of Assassins, who were there to make sure Ma Murder succeeds. After Batman defeats all the crooks, he gives Sergius the chance he has been expecting: an interview with Batman.
THE ALIENS AMONG US!
THE IRON SOLUTION
Dick Grayson goes to Germany as part of a Wayne Enterprises trip and, as Robin, cracks down on a gang of military crooks who have stolen an experimental tank. The whole criminal affair was affecting Wayne Enterprises’ business in Germany and thanks to Robin, the criminals are finally captured.
THE ODD MAN!
The Odd Man, a crime-fighter in a bizarre mask and suit, tracks down the Pharaoh, a jewel thief who wields a gun that mummifies its targets in plastic.
THE CASE OF THE CAMPAIGN CRIMES
Barbara Gordon returns to Gotham City as part of her re-election campaign for Congress, but she is forced to work as Batgirl to protect her opponents from murder attempts by the Gotham Organized Crime. Her efforts to keep the other candidates safe cause Barbara to neglect her own campaign, but she is entirely focused on her career as Batgirl, which in turn reflects in the way the people of Gotham vote 68-page giant. Batman in ”The Perils of Sergius” written by Denny O’Neil with art by Don Newton and inks by Dan Adkins. Other stories in this issue: Batman, Batgirl, Roy Raymond, TV Detective. Cover price $1.00.
