Secret Invasion

Years ago. Skrull soldiers inform their banished Queen that the Skrull homeworld had been destroyed and that the Skrull armada has been nearly wiped out. The Queen says that the scripture was right and that she will now tell her people what must be done.

The present. In one of Tony Stark’s labs, he meets with Reed Richards and Henry Pym. As he shows them the body of the Elektra Skrull, he reveals that the Skrulls have infiltrated Earth and that these new Skrulls are totally undetectable by any means of science or magic. With Reed and Henry being the two smartest men on the planet, Tony asks them to study the Skrull and figure out a way to detect the aliens.

Suddenly, Tony is alerted by Maria Hill that a Skrull ship detected by the Peak has crash-landed in the Savage Land. Tony leaves to investigate it himself without telling Reed and Henry about the crashed Skrull ship, simply telling them that he will check in on them.

Iron Man contacts Spider-Woman at the Avengers Tower. He instructs her to get the Quinjet ready and to call the rest of the Avengers immediately in order to investigate the Skrull ship in the Savage Land.

Spider-Woman calls Luke Cage and tells him about the Skrull ship. Shortly thereafter, Luke and the rest of the Secret Avengers show up in Avengers Tower, courtesy of Cloak’s teleportation. Spider-Man webs up Black Widow, the sole Mighty Avenger in the hangar, and the Secret Avengers manage to steal a Quinjet. Three minutes later, Iron Man, Ms Marvel, Wonder Man, Ares, and Spider-Woman arrive on the scene.

The Secret Avengers crashland at the Savage Land. With his enhanced senses, Wolverine leads them to the Skrull ship. Suddenly, Iron Man and the rest of the Mighty Avengers show up on the scene, and the two sets of Avengers square off. Luke ignores Iron Man and starts to tear open the Skrull ship. An orange light on the ship turns green.

In the Peak, the orbiting headquarters of SWORD, Dum Dum Dugan’s eyes glow green, says “He loves you…,” then blows up the Peak.

In Avengers Tower, Jarvis’ eyes glazes over, says “He loves you…,” and enters an alien virus into the computer. Iron Man’s armor then begins to freeze up and be attacked by the virus, as Iron Man collapses to the ground. The virus also begins attacking and shutting down all Stark Enterprises facilities.

In the Helicarrier, a full systems malfunction suddenly occurs. Hill orders everyone to abandon ship as the Helicarrier tilts and begins to crash.

In both the Raft and the Cube, the alien virus hacks through and releases all the prisoners. Marvel Boy notices that the Cube’s security systems have been decimated and he leaves.

In Thunderbolts Mountain, a Skrull posing as Captain Marvel punches a hole in the base, knocking down Norman Osborn and several of the Thunderbolts.

In the Baxter Building, one of the visiting tourists is a Skrull, who then assumes the form of Sue Richards. Skrull Sue opens the Negative Zone portal and creates a massive breach, as she says “He loves you…”. The Negative Zone breach begins to suck the top floor of the building.

Back in the Savage Land, Iron Man is having a complex seizure from the alien virus. Luke believes that this is but a trick. Then, the Skrull ship opens and out steps Power Man, Wolverine, White Queen, Jewel, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Beast, Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, Mockingbird, Wonder Man, Thor, Iron Man, Vision, Phoenix, and Invisible Woman, all of whom are in their old (1970’s) costumes. The newly released characters square off with the combined Secret and Mighty Avengers. The Ms Marvel from the Skrull ship then asks, “Is this it? Did we make it back to Earth?”

In the wreckage of the Peak, Agent Brand is desperately trying to contact the Helicarrier as they only have about ten minutes of air left. A massive Skrull armada is then seen arriving outside of Earth’s atmosphere.

Back in the Stark lab, Reed thinks he has figured out how the Skrulls made themselves undetectable and asks Henry if he knows what the Skrulls did. Henry replies that he already knows as he pulls out a gun on Reed and blasts him into goo. Henry Pym then turns into his Skrull form and says “He even loves you.”
