"Lost in Space"
Bishop and Deathbird crash-land on a planet that has been raided by the murderous, savage species known as the Chnitt. Soon, they are joined in their fight by the warrior known as Karel, who first came to this planet to collect a deadly weapon which he intends to utilize in order to liberate the people of his native world. The trio reaches the city of Kuth, where a warp gate can provide them with their means of escaping. Bishop, however, feels compelled to stay behind and prevent the destruction of the city by the Chnitt. Deathbird, in spite of herself and driven by her feelings for Bishop, also lingers behind. They both lose their chance of escaping, when the gate dissolves after Karel’s departure. In Alaska, the five original X-Men pack up their belongings and prepare to leave. Suddenly, Phoenix undergoes a psionic attack and collapses.
