Synopsis:
Rise and Fall of the Shi’Ar Empire, Part 7 of 12
Lilandra Neremani, recovering from her treatment at the hands of Cassandra Nova, tries to contact Chancellor Araki but finds him less than welcoming. He shoots her guards and a waiting girl before knocking her unconscious.
Far away in space, Warpath and Korvus almost come to blows before Havok separates the two men. He reminds James that Korvus may be their only chance to catch up with Charles and Darwin. Korvus explains that he might be able to fix the engines in order for their ship to create its own stargates. He needs the power of Havok, Polaris and Marvel Girl to do this. They could visit Alex’s father, Corsair, only Alex is nervous about seeing him again with what he deems only bad news. This includes the news about his other son, Vulcan.
As Korvus works on the engines later, Rachel dreams about him and goes to visit him whilst he works. Their attraction is strong and they soon find themselves kissing.
Meanwhile, the two Shi’ar crewmen arrive at the Shi’ar High Council’s ship and are cleared for landing. They hand over Charles Xavier to Vice-Chancellor K’Tor, who then tortures him. Darwin sneaks aboard and plans on doing anything he can to get Charles back.
