Synopsis:
Rise and Fall of the Shi’Ar Empire, Part 8 of 12
The X-Men, with the help of Korvus, manage to jump through space to where the Shi’ar have taken Charles Xavier. Once there, they contact Corsair and the Starjammers, and are welcomed aboard their ship. Corsair and Hepzibah explain that there has been a coup involving Chancellor Araki, and that Deathbird is somehow involved. Their now revised plan is to attack the transport ship carrying Charles, Darwin and Lilandra; rescue them; and steal the navigation logs. Alex informs his father of the fact that his other son, Vulcan, is still alive. Corsair can’t believe it, and wants to rescue him too.
On the transport ship, Darwin rescues Charles, whilst the X-Men and Starjammers attack. Lilandra, meanwhile, is ushered away by a guard loyal to her, and they meet up with the invaders. As Darwin attempts to get Charles to safety, he witnesses Chancellor Araki introducing the catalyst for the new empire - the great D’Ken!
