"Fighting Chance, Book 5: The Beaten Path"
Rachel and Zack find themselves in a cage inside a mansion where they’re interrogated about their interest in Snapdragon by Angela Golden (known as Golddigger) and Kono the Sumo, Snapdragon’s brother. When left alone, Rachel uses a concealed acid capsule diamond to break out of her bonds, which leads to knocking out Golddigger and escaping from the cage with Zack. They make their way through the mansion and eventually find its master, Damon Dran. Rachel attempts to threaten him, but he’s unmoved due to his indestructible nature. Nonetheless, through the encounter she learns that Sheoke did indeed die and was already cremated. Rachel doesn’t quite get the chance to come to terms with the news as Dran’s henchmen converge on his room.

Meanwhile, Captain America makes a call to get himself released from the Virginia police station where he ended up after his encounter with Americop and opts to abandon the search for the vigilante to answer Rachel’s distress call. He ends up running into Americop anyway as they converge on Dran’s mansion. Americop explains that his investigation into a string of missing children led him there. Cap offers to work together to shut the place down, but when he sees Rachel and Zack were captured, he implores his ally to not go in guns blazing. Americop has no interest in taking the suggestion.
