Synopsis for ”The Juniper Tree”
When a mother goes to desperate measures to keep her daughter away from a troubled man Sela finds it’s time to step in… A woman commits the ultimate act of betrayal in order to protect her child but soon finds her actions have caused a horrifying chain of events and proves that too much meddling will only lead to tragedy.
Detailed Summary
Bryan, who states that Thomas Edison even supported cocaine use, was introducing Carolyn his half-sister to try cocaine. He told her it wouldn’t hurt her and fearfully she tried some. Her mother was worried about the corrupting influence, and actually contacted a friend of hers Monica, to get one of her cousins to take him out.
Sela meets Patricia, Carolyn’s mom, and gives her a book of fairytales to read about a very old magical Juniper tree. She starts reading the story, and the story is about a similar situation of a nobleman, who married a second wife, Deborah, who had a daughter Clarinda, who is in love with her new husband’s son,Stuart. He had a reputation for not being a good boy, but was labeled a philanderer and a thief. Deborah, wanted to keep her daughter around because she was actually not happy in the marriage because the nobleman had not gotten over his first wife.
The Juniper tree seemed to knock on her window and keep her awake, and as she became aware of her daughter leaving with Stuart, she arranges an opportunity to strike Stuart from behind while getting some apples for her. She buried him out by the juniper tree, and removed his belongings. She then consoles her daughter that he was not a good match for her. As time goes on a crow by the Juniper tree explains to Clarinda what really happened. Clarinda leaves a note for her mother and goes by the juniper tree and hangs herself to be with Stuart.
With that Patricia realizes that she could not kill Bryan and she calls off the hit job. Bryan gets some new cocaine from Belinda and Carolyn is the first to try it, and she collapses suddenly with blood coming out of her nose and mouth. In the emergency room they tell Patricia that they were not able to get her back. Sela states that it was not supposed to happen that way. Apparently it was suppose to have a good outcome.💩⌨️✍️
