Synopsis:
The Face Of The Dragon / Death’s Strange Deputy! / The Sight Stealers!

“The Face of the Dragon”: Nasthalthia Luthor hires detective Jonny Double to trail Linda Danvers, telling him Linda wants to kill her, but secretly hoping he will discover her Supergirl identity. He catches up with Linda in Chinatown, where a radical group, the Dragon Tong, has killed one of their own for betrayal and attempts to kill the mayor of Chinatown. Supergirl intervenes and captures the Tong men. Later, Linda and Johnny run across a Chinese boy who is in the employ of Batman’s enemy Dr. Tzin-Tzin. They stop the youth from committing suicide over his failure to help his fellow Tong men, and trail him back to Tzin-Tzin’s hideout. Double tries to slip in the warehouse but is soon captured and brought before Tzin-Tzin at gunpoint. He’s trying to fight Tzin-Tzin’s goons off when Supergirl crashes into the place. Tzin-Tzin sets a dragon on her, but Supergirl quickly realizes the dragon is one of Tzin-Tzin’s illusions, and dispels it with heat-vision. Tzin-Tzin escapes by jumping into the bay. Later, Johnny tells Nasthalia that he knows she intended to frame Linda for attempted murder and he won’t take her case. After she storms out, he wonders if Linda really could be Supergirl, but doubts it. ”Death’s Strange Deputy!”: A man becomes convinced he has been created by a magician to kill an evil sorcerer, but the Phantom Stranger unmasks his deceiver’s plot. (This story is reprinted from Phantom Stranger #2.) ”Circle of Doom”: Black Canary, looking for a job, finds one teaching martial arts to members of the Women’s Resistance League, a feminist group. Later, she sees the group being held at gunpoint by masked terrorists. She defeats the crooks easily, only to be blackjacked unconscious by one of her own students. The WRL head, Bertha, tells one of the group to shoot Black Canary to death. ”The Sight Stealers!”: McNider has built an echo-flashlight to help the blind. On his way to his friend Lacey’s fund-raising show he is accosted by several crooks on Lacey’s secretary Murvis’ payroll, set to steal his especial flashlight. McNider pretends to skedaddle and swiftly changes into Dr. Mid-Nite. Mid-Nite is easily overpowering the mobsters when Murvis’ sudden appearance knocks him out. The gang tie Mid-Nite up to Murvis’ bike and push him downhill, but he manages to guide the bike to a safe spot. Later Murvis’ gang attempts to steal the fund-raising but they are stopped by Mid-Nite for good.
