Title:
X-Man
Synopsis:
The mysterious Jack Knife starts his quest for Nate Grey. Nate is currently at a trendy nightclub, dancing with his new friends Bux, Jam, and Marita.
At Washington Square Park, the young boy, Roust, is also looking for Nate in order to tell him some important information. A police officer talks to Roust briefly while thinking about all the recent deaths. The officer is then confronted by Jack Knife and killed.
The band playing at the nightclub counts Jam among its members, and they invite Nate on stage. He gets up there and sings along with the band, causing the night-clubbers to go crazy with excitement. Roust has made his way to the nightclub but has trouble getting in. He makes his way down a back alley, unaware that Jack Knife is there.
After getting off the stage, Nate is hit on by Jam’s parole officer, which does not impress Marita. Roust starts to climb to the nightclub roof. Jack Knife watches him and recalls how he and the twins, Roust and Joust, lived on the street with a girl named Watts until the Abomination took them in. Nate suddenly picks up a strange sobbing noise, while Roust makes his way inside the club, up on one of the pillars of the old converted church. Jack Knife follows him and remembers how Threnody was also living with the Abomination. Then Nate Grey came, and everything changed.
Nate realizes Roust is there and flies up, grabbing the boy just before Jack Knife can. Roust quickly tells Nate that he came to warn him about Jack Knife, the man that slaughtered his brother and so many others down below.
Jack Knife lashes out in the club. The patrons listen as he tells them that Nate Grey is a danger to everyone Nate comes in contact with. Jack is here to kill Nate and everyone whose soul he has tainted.
Elsewhere, in the lost lair, a woman sits on a pile of bodies as others reach out to her.
