Synopsis:
After being thrown from his reality to another, X-Man clambers out of a crater to find himself surrounded by snow-covered mountains. He doesn’t know where he is or how he came to be here. He remembers being in a major battle with Holocaust and feels he must find Magneto as soon as possible.
In his confused state, he is knocked over by a truck but recovers enough to take a lift with the driver. Unfortunately, thinking this is some kind of trick, he ends up destroying the truck and has to walk the rest of the way to Montreux.
He arrives in the town but knows something isn’t right. People here seem unafraid and dress differently. He sees a woman in a playground with her children, and a name pops into his head: Jean Grey. He doesn’t know why the name is significant.
Continuing through town, he is helped by a man named Sven Claris, who he thought might be Forge. Sven takes him to his home and heads out for supplies, allowing Nate to rest. As he slumbers, he thinks about Jean and wakes when he hears a door creak open. He discovers a woman standing before him, offering to help. She introduces herself as being Madelyne Pryor.
In Salem Center, meanwhile, Charles Xavier again senses Nate’s psionic power but finds it cloaked from him, something that has never happened before.
