Minister of Security Doeke Riebeeck and Sergeant Van der Merwe are closing in fast on the scene of the carnage.

Holed up in a Vegas motel, Coldblood learns of his past from his computer. Before dying, he was Lt Col Eric Savin, head of security for an ultra-secret military project. In attempting to help Gina Dyson expose the truth of that project - that it was being used by Maiko as a cover to create viable cyborgs destined to serve mysterious masters - Savin was killed.
