Conan and his small band of followers attack some brigands. Shapur seems to be much more blood thirty and even show no concern when his daughter is taken hostage. Natually, they win and find an inn to spend the night. They find out that Ophir and Koth are at war, and this causes some tension with the locals. Shapur once again goes nuts and kills someone in a friendly bar brawl. Conan has some nightmares and figures out that Shapur is dead, and Thulsa Doom is imitating him. Conan goes to fight Shapur but gets an arrow in the back. Anneke would not let him kill her father.

Well, this issue was a bit slow. It meanders about too much. Anneke whined about all sorts of things. Kobe was his insufferable self. Obviously, the reader knows that Thulsa Doom is up to no good and surprise he is. He wants to take Conan’s life force. I will admit that the ending was a bit of a surprise. While not a great issue it does keep my interest to see how this will end.
